What is the Woven Fabric Index?
The Index is arithmetic run over a working document: the Burhan Enterprises Digital Fabric Library, the register our sourcing desk actually quotes from, as generated on 2026-07-08. Each register line is one woven quality — a construction with its category, composition, weight and status — and the Index counts what the register states, exactly as it states it. The statistics are recomputed from the register file every time this site builds, so the page can never drift from the library it describes.

One field is deliberately reported as coverage only. Width is stated on 1,108 lines, with raw values from 36 to 137 — but the register's width column mixes inch-basis and centimetre-basis entries, so the Index asserts no unit and publishes no width distribution. A width number stripped of its unit and basis (loom-state or finished, full or cuttable) is not a fact, and widths are therefore quoted per enquiry with both attached.
