Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Burhan Enterprises collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you visit this website, contact us, or use the tools on this site — and the rights you have over that data, including under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.

Last updated 18 August 2026

Who we are

Burhan Enterprises is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy. We are a fabric sourcing, development and export partner based in Karachi, Pakistan; we are not a manufacturer or mill.

You can reach us about any privacy matter at: Burhan Enterprises, Cochinwala Market, Kharadar, Karachi, Pakistan. Email fahad.faheem@burhanenterprises.com; phone or WhatsApp +92 334 0229966.

The personal data we collect

We collect only the data you choose to share with us, or that is needed to run the site securely:

  • Enquiry, swatch and sample forms — your name, company, country, email address, phone/WhatsApp number, and the fabric or project details you provide.
  • Guide downloads — your name, email address, company and country when you unlock a downloadable guide.
  • WhatsApp and phone contact — your number and the content of the messages you send us.
  • Fabric assistant (“Brolly”) — the messages you type into the on-site chat, which may include your requirements and any contact details you choose to include.
  • Analytics — where analytics is enabled and you have consented, limited usage data such as pages viewed, approximate region, and device or browser type.
  • Technical logs — standard information such as IP address and timestamps, processed by our hosting provider to deliver and protect the site.

We do not intentionally collect special-category data (such as health, religion or biometric data), and we ask that you do not send it through our forms or the chat assistant.

How we use your data, and our lawful basis

Under the GDPR and UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for each use of your data. Ours are:

  • Responding to enquiries and providing swatches, samples and quotations, and managing our relationship with you — our legitimate interests in conducting and developing our business-to-business trade; and, where an order proceeds, performance of a contract with you.
  • Operating the fabric assistant to answer your questions and help prepare your enquiry — our legitimate interests in assisting prospective buyers. We do not use chat content to build marketing profiles.
  • Analytics, to understand how the site is used — your consent, given through the cookie banner and withdrawable at any time.
  • Occasional follow-up with business contacts about sourcing and relevant fabric developments — our legitimate interests, or your consent where required; you can opt out at any time.
  • Meeting our legal, accounting, tax and export-documentation obligations — compliance with a legal obligation.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have weighed them against your rights and only proceed where those interests are not overridden by your interests or fundamental rights. You can object at any time (see “Your rights” below).

The fabric assistant (AI chat)

The messages you type into the on-site fabric assistant are personal data where they identify you or your business. They are sent to our server and, when our AI service is engaged, passed to Anthropic, PBC — a US-based AI provider acting solely as our processor — to generate the reply. Burhan Enterprises remains the controller of this data throughout; your messages are not used to train third-party models for their own purposes. The transfer safeguards described under “International transfers” apply to this processing.

Please share only the information needed for your enquiry, and avoid entering sensitive personal or confidential information into the chat.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses very few cookies and no advertising or social-media tracking. A single, strictly-necessary mechanism remembers your consent choice — stored in your browser’s local storage, never sold or shared. We do not use fingerprinting, and we do not run a Google Tag Manager container. With your consent, we use Microsoft Clarity, a session-replay and heatmap tool: it loads only after you accept analytics, masks typed input by default, and its usage data is processed by Microsoft. Where Google Analytics 4 is enabled, we load Google’s gtag.js library, which is served from googletagmanager.com.

With your consent, we may load analytics tools: a single page-analytics provider — privacy-focused analytics (Plausible), which is cookieless and hosted in the EU, or Google Analytics 4 where enabled, which sets cookies and involves a transfer of usage data to Google — and Microsoft Clarity, which records anonymised session replays and heatmaps and sets the cookies _clck and _clsk only after you accept. Where Plausible is used, nothing loads unless you accept. Where Google Analytics 4 is enabled, its tag loads for every visitor but starts in a consent-denied state: no analytics or advertising storage is used, and no cookies are set, unless you accept. If you decline it remains in that state and measurement stays aggregate; your IP address is processed in order to serve the request and is anonymised. Declining analytics does not affect your use of the site.

You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

Who we share your data with

We share personal data only where necessary, and only with recipients who are required to protect it and to use it solely on our instructions:

  • Partner mills, finishing units and service providers engaged to fulfil your enquiry — for example, to develop, sample or quote a fabric.
  • Our IT, hosting and email providers, who help us operate the site and correspond with you.
  • Our analytics provider, only where analytics is enabled and you have consented.
  • Our AI chat provider, only for the messages you send to the fabric assistant.
  • Authorities, advisers or regulators where we are required to share data by law.

We do not sell your personal data or share it for third-party advertising.

International transfers

We are based in Pakistan and some of our providers operate in other countries, so your personal data may be transferred to and processed in Pakistan and elsewhere outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom.

Pakistan is not currently the subject of an EU or UK “adequacy” decision. Where we transfer EEA or UK personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards — principally the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, and for UK data the UK International Data Transfer Addendum — together with any additional measures needed to protect your data. You can ask us for details of the safeguard relied upon.

How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it:

  • Enquiry, swatch and correspondence records — for the duration of our discussions and any resulting relationship, and normally up to 24 months after our last contact if no order proceeds.
  • Customer and order records — for the length of the relationship and afterwards as required by law, typically up to 6–7 years for accounting, tax and export-documentation purposes.
  • Fabric assistant conversations — retained only briefly to operate and improve the service, then deleted or aggregated.
  • Analytics data — held in aggregated or limited-identifier form for the period configured with our analytics provider.

When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the following rights over your personal data:

  • Access — to be told whether we process your data and to receive a copy of it.
  • Rectification — to have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
  • Erasure — to have your data deleted where there is no continuing lawful reason to keep it.
  • Restriction — to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
  • Objection — to object to processing based on our legitimate interests, including any direct marketing.
  • Portability — to receive certain data in a commonly-used, machine-readable format, or have it sent to another controller, where processing is based on consent or contract and carried out by automated means.
  • Withdraw consent — at any time, where we rely on your consent; this does not affect processing already carried out.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at fahad.faheem@burhanenterprises.com, or write to us at the address above. We will respond within one month, as required by the GDPR.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority — in the EEA, your local supervisory authority; in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows the current version, and we will highlight any material changes here.
